Confetti Gardens is a single-image response to an invited competition hosted by Materials & Applications for an installation in their courtyard space on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles. Noting the mental health benefits associated with 20 minutes of continuous drumming, this proposal was a partnership with Remo Music Center in which the various surfaces of the large confetti pieces would double as stages for public programming centered on drumming. Some of the confetti elements would be designed as drums and incorporated in public performances. Confetti Gardens is the third project in a series of projects investigating confetti as an organizational, social, and aesthetic medium.
