This proposal for the UK Rail Network fosters both uniformity and variation among the stations by drawing cues from the broader railway network and local contexts, creating contextually sensitive stations with a national identity. Each individual station utilizes a common plinth design, which can be easily varied in dimension and proportion to meet varying site, size, and  structural demands.  The station roofs are designed as abstractions of local roof types found within each stations general context.  The roofs offer unique expressions for each station that reflects the local context and which offers a strategy for creating local relationships within a national network.
