Endemic Architecture

Endemic
Endemic is a multidisciplinary design and research studio operating in the fields of architectural design, landscape, drawing, and contemporary design education.
Applied interests and experiments in both digital design + fabrication paired with the material-made and analogue drawing promotes a disciplinary
feedback involving various modes and methods of design in service of imaginative and unique proposals. Endemic operates as a 'middle-out' practice,
neither top down nor bottom up, seeking intensive processes to design through drawing, material, and digital explorations tailored to context, program,
and the senses. As such, interests in how ideas and techniques corroborate, diverge, and/or condense one another and in what ways the technique might
supplant the idea, or how the idea might produce novel techniques is embedded in the approach. The name, Endemic, assumes the traditional meaning
concerning local contexts, tongues, and material ecologies yet also extends to make contact with the inherency of global technologies in architecture and
landscape as fundamental, disciplinary 'vernaculars'.

Endemic has worked at many scales, including the small scale (1,100 sq. ft.) residential interior to the large scale (1million+ square feett)
multipurpose.

Endemic has gained recognition through awards, lectures, and publications concerning modest design research focused on the American
pastoral and digital culture, as well as drawing and narrative.

Additionally, Endemic has collaborated on large scale projects in Canada, Australia, and China.
